SUMMER SALES
Just a post to tell the whole wide world that I’m the happiest girl ever since the summer sales started this morning!
Sales (“Soldes”) are regulated by the state in France, and take place in summer and winter. Department stores, boutiques, designer outlets, and even hardware shops clear out items from the previous season, gradually slashing prices over the course of the sales period. Generally its starts with prices with discounts up to 30%. Every week, until the end of sales, the discounts become greater. In Paris, biannual sales generally span six weeks, usually falling at the end of June and the beginning of January. Summer 2011 sales begin Wednesday, June 22nd and end Tuesday, July 26th.
